Hi, I’m Barbara and I live in York with my Husband Peter and my son Neil, have a German Shepherd called ‘Mishka’
and finally my Soul mate and confidant ‘Hector’ a Pure Bred Highland Pony who has pulled me through some tough times.
ANIMAL MASSAGE PRACTITIONER MERISHIA MASSAGE
I’ve always been passionate about helping animals so decided it was
time to have a lifestyle change.
I qualified as a Sports Animal Massage Practitioner accredited by the NFCE and through additional studies became a Recommended member of the Association of Merishia Therapists (STAMP),
a member of the International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT), and completed studies
as an Advocate for Canine Arthritis Management, in addition to Studying with the
Dunbar Academy of Dog Training.
I am really looking forward to meeting all you new owners and working alongside to walk you and your animal through what will be a worrying time for some and for others enjoying time with regular maintenance sessions for those who have not developed problems as yet.

Using all my acquired knowledge and skill sets, I am passionate about dogs and horses remaining as mobile and free from pain and discomfort for as long as possible using a multimodal approach to their care,
in conjunction with the vets practice and tailored to the animals needs.

I work within the Veterinary Act 1966, and exemptions 2015, which states that anyone providing Physiotherapy or complimentary treatments unless referred directly by a qualified vet must seek verbal or written permission before proceeding.
