ABOUT BARBARA BARNES

For more than 10 years, I have worked for the British Horse Society as a Welfare Officer, offering advice and help to those owners who lack knowledge in how to care for their equine friend with the emphasis being on education, working closely with owners and other agencies.

ANIMAL MASSAGE PRACTITIONER MERISHIA MASSAGE

Having always wanted to work as an Animal Massage Practitioner, I started looking for an educational establishment that would provide me with the skills I would need.

I eventually came across Rose Therapy in Oxford who took me through the Canine and Equine Massage Practitioners, level 4 course which I finally completed in June 2019.

As a now fully qualified Animal Massage Practitioner of the Association of Merishia Massage Therapists (AMT) Accredited by the NCFE, I am ready to take on clients within a 20 mile radius of York, but will travel further if required so please contact me for the additional mileage costs outside of this.

HELP DOGS AND HORSES REMAIN FREE FROM PAIN

I would like to help dogs and horses remain mobile and free from pain and discomfort where possible, way into their twilight years by using techniques learnt and applying them appropriately, tailoring them to the individual pet’s needs.

 VETERINARY ACT 1966

I work within the Veterinary Act 1966, and exemptions 2015, which states that anyone providing Physiotherapy or complimentary treatments unless referred directly by a qualified vet must seek verbal or written permission before proceeding.

 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH

Continued Professional Development and research is at the forefront of my business which can be passed on to my clients as new technology advancements are discovered.
